![]() History C.L. Benninger Equipment (1995) LTD. is a Farm Equipment and Lawn & Garden Equipment Dealership located in the heart of Kent County, in the city of Chatham, Ontario, Canada. The company was formerly called J.V. Dent which itself dates back to 1909, then owned by James Dent. It was incorporated in the 1960's and taken over by Edsel Dent. In 1974 Carl Benninger purchased a 50% share and bought the balance in 1979. In 1983 the name was changed to C.L. Benninger Equipment Ltd. In 1995, the company was purchased by its current owners; Wayne Bobier and Gerald Spriel. Although the company carried a lot of short line brands of equipment from the start, during the 1960's the company primarily sold and serviced New Idea pull type corn pickers and Uni Systems. The company started selling New Holland hay tools and combines in the mid 1970's until the supplier purchased Ford. White Farm Equipment, Bobcat and Kubota franchises were added in the mid 1980's. In 1989 the dealership started selling and servicing Gleaner combines and Allis tractors. Today they offer sales, parts and service for main lines of AGCO, Kubota and Bobcat as well as many short lines ![]()
